Ghalkemm fid-dehra ma kienx attraenti, fil-kitba kien jinqala' bil-bosta. Kien kapaci jikteb innijiet bazati fuq is-Salmi u Isacc Watts kiteb wiehed jismu "Joy to the World" imsejjes fuq is-Salm 98. "Ghajtu bil-ferh lill-Mulej fl-art kollha, infexxu fil-hena, ifirhu u ghannu". Salm 98 vers 4.
Minkejja il-hila tieghu Isacc ma kienx apprezzat. Kienu jghidu ghalih : "Pruzuntuz biex jaqbad is-Salmi u minn ghalih itihom sura ahjar milli huma." Hafna snin wara l-mewt ta' Isacc Dr Lowell Mason ( 1792 - 1872) ha l-innu u libbsu l-muzika.
Ghal-ewwel dan ix-xoghol tawh il-gemb, izda Handel and Haydn Society ta' Boston, Massachusetts accettawh. Dr Lowell Mason li aktar tard sar president ta' din is-socjeta' kompla jikkomponi aktar muzika sagra; kiteb 'l fuq minn 1600 bicca xoghol. Il-lum dan ix-xoghol huwa kantat bhala wahda mill-"carols" l-aktar ferrieha tal-Milied.
